technology then mass producing our equipment in a cheaper version. Their strategy for victory is to use overwhelming numbers of weapons to overrun their opponent.
The US strategy is to use superior tactics, training, and equipment to win. The key to US military victory rest on synchronization of all of the available forces on the battlefield in a coordinated strike.
The US will combine all available forces at the right time, in the right place in order to do massive damage to the enemy at his weakest point or the place where we will get the most benefit. For example, US strategy seeks to seek and kill the leadership of our enemies because most of our foes operate in a very centralized manner. Once you kill the leaders the rank and file are not able to operate. If they can’t mount a successful operation against you it does not matter how many there are.
Russia showed off its fifth-generation stealth fighter this week at the MAKS air show outside Moscow, according to news reports.
The T-50 is one of several prototypes developed by Sukhoi, a subsidiary of United Aircraft Corp., as part of the Russian air force’s PAK-FA program. The twin-engine fighter is designed to compete against such U.S. military aircraft as the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
As far as an air war is concerned their strategy remains the same but they use electronic warfare very extensively in all of their military operations. Electronic warfare involves using electronic signals to disrupt the enemies ability to operate. Radio transmissions will be jammed along with radar emissions and all other types of communication between weapons systems.
As far as I am concerned US strategy will defeat Russian strategy because our main objective is to make them combat ineffective rather than attempting to kill them all.
Operation Desert Storm was a perfect example of how the US strategy is a total strategy. When the ground was actually started in Iraq coalition forces were severely outnumbered by the Iraqis but the Iraqi military was starved, and too demoralized to put up their best fight because they had been cut off for so long by the six week long coalition bombing campaign.
